Update: Sophie has been adopted.
This week’s PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week is Sophie.

Miss Sophie is a beautiful, quiet, and loving girl who was surrendered to PAWS when her owner passed away. She can be a bit shy when you first meet her, but give her some time and she’ll warm right up. She loves being brushed, especially her cheeks! Sophie is dignified, but not too proud to attack the laser pointer or a feather toy (see our blog for a fun video clip). This 11-year old lady is looking for a quiet and predictable home where she can spend her days lounging by the window, watching the birds, and simply being loved.
Sophie is back at PAWS Cat City (8503 Greenwood in Seattle) after a little vacation in foster care. She is hoping for a new start to life in this new year! She is spayed, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on her vaccines. During June, her adoption fee is only $25 or free to a senior human (60+)! Cat City is open Tue, Wed & Fri noon – 6 pm, Thu noon – 7 pm and Sat – Sun 11 am – 5 pm.
June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month! PAWS is hoping to find loving, permanent homes for as many shelter cats as possible. To accomplish this, during the month of June, adoption fees are reduced for all adult cats. The reduced fees are as follows:
- Adult Cats (over 6 months old): $50.00
- Senior Cats (over 7 years old): $25.00
- Senior Cats for Senior People (60+): Free!
- Two Adult Cats (adopted same day): $100.00
- One Adult Cat and one Kitten (adopted same day): $120.00

Update: Moses has been adopted.
This week’s PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week is Moses.

Moses is a curious cross-eyed youngster. At just 8 months old (roughly a young teenager), he still has a vast enthusiasm for playing, but is also a little love bug. When he’s finally worn out, he will shower you with little kisses and head-butts. He does not enjoy the company of other cats, though, so this Moses has an 11th commandment: thou shalt put no other cats above me (or below me or next to me)!
Come meet this sweet boy at Cat City on the northwest corner of 85th & Greenwood. He is neutered, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $90. Cat City is open Tue, Wed & Fri noon – 6 pm, Thu noon – 7 pm and Sat – Sun 11 am – 5 pm.
This summer Cat City will be staying open late on Thursday evenings. So if you want to beat the weekend crowds or come by after work, we’ll be here until 7 pm. As always, adoptions end a half hour before we close, but you can keep visiting up until the end.

Update: Buddy has been adopted.
This week’s PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week is Buddy.

Buddy is a big galoot – not the sharpest tack, but eager to love! This 5-year-old boy loves having his head scritched and sleeping at the foot of your bed. He’s also very playful and will proudly defend your front window from passing canines. Buddy isn’t the best at reading people or other cats. He doesn’t mean any harm, though – he just doesn’t know his own pointiness! He would prefer a home with adults (and maybe older kids) so he can relax and be himself.
Come meet this sweet fellow at Cat City at the northwest corner of 85th & Greenwood. He is neutered, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $90.
We are pleased to report that Addie found her forever home this past Saturday!

This week’s PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week is Colette.

Colette is a beautiful 6-year old girl with inky black fur. She has a big freckle in her right eye and daintily scoops wet food to her mouth using her paw. However, her chewed up left ear attests to her feistiness (though she prefers to think of it as a bidirectional catnip antenna). She was originally feral, but has socialized quite nicely. Unlike many former-ferals, though, she prefers the company of adult humans to other kitties and will demand to be the lone cat of your kingdom.
Come see this sweet & sassy lady at Cat City at the northwest corner of 85th & Greenwood. She is spayed, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $90. Cat City is open Tues-Fri 2-6pm and Sat-Sun 11am-5pm.
We are thrilled to report that Dirk & Buster found a new home last Sunday!

Update: Dirk and Buster have been adopted.
This week’s Pet of the Week is a two-fer from Greenwood’s PAWS Cat City.

Dirk and Buster have had a tough time in their short lives. Buster was rescued from a feral colony when he was a kitten by folks who meant well, but didn’t know much about cats. He and his sister spent the next 5 months living in a bathroom, observing but cut off from his new family. He was understandably very skittish when he came to us and overwhelmed by all the people and activity he found himself amidst.
We don’t know how Dirk spent his first year, but he spent his first couple months with us withdrawn and terrified of people. He came to Cat City’s back room two weeks ago and made slow steady progress outside of a cage with persistent gentle contact. Buster landed here a week later and was terrified in the colony with the other kitties, so we decided to try him in the back with Dirk. It was practically love at first sight!
A mere week later, you would think they were littermates. Buster makes Dirk braver & plays with him and Dirk grooms his little brother & frequently seeks him out for nudges & rubs. They are both affectionate and playful and growing more confident by the day!
If you think you might be the one to give these boys the better life they deserve, come visit them at PAWS Cat City at 8503 Greenwood Ave N. They are neutered, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on vaccines. Their adoption fee is $135. Cat City is open Tues-Fri 2-6pm and Sat-Sun 11am-5pm.

Update: Matador has been adopted.
This week’s PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week is Matador.

Matador is a dashing 6-year old boy who is full of warm energy. He has long black fur and his beautiful green eyes light up when you walk in the room. His only hopes are that you’ll offer him a stable, loving home full of head scritches and that you’ll take him to see a dentist so he can charm you with his smile! He will give you oodles of love in return!
Come make his day at Cat City at the northwest corner of 85th & Greenwood. He is neutered, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $65 through the end of April. Cat City is open Tues-Fri 2-6pm and Sat-Sun 11am-5pm.

Update: Cadberri has been adopted.
This week’s PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week is Cadberri.

Cadberri is shy at first, but also immediately leans into your hand when you reach to pet her and is very trusting once she gets to know you. She can often be found curled up in a hidey hole in the colony during the day, but when things quiet down she’ll explore and seek some loving. She came to us declawed, which may have heightened her shyness, but also means she absolutely needs to be an indoor kitty. She just wants to be the princess of your castle anyway, so that’s just fine!
Cadberri would love for you to scritch her chin at Cat City at the northwest corner of 85th & Greenwood. She is spayed, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $65 through the end of April. Cat City is open Tues-Fri from 2-6pm and Sat-Sun from 11am-5pm.

Update: Addie has been adopted.
This week’s PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week is Addie.

Addie is a gentle and loving 6-year-old girl who appreciates lots of attention. As you approach her, she will roll over and beg for pets, mewing and chirping to make sure you catch the hint. She also loves playing with string toys, mice and the laser pointer. Addie has an unusual coat – long, mostly black with a white chest & paws and orange highlights on the tips of her side fur! She has also had her teeth freshly cleaned, so is all prettied up and ready for visitors!
She would love to show you herself when you come visit her at Cat City at the northwest corner of 85th & Greenwood. She is spayed, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $65 through the end of April. Cat City is open Tues-Fri from 2-6pm and Sat-Sun from 11am-5pm.

Update: Sophie Mae has been adopted.
This week’s PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week is Sophie Mae.

Sophie Mae is a beautiful dilute tortoiseshell girl who is 6 years old and has a big personality! Her humans developed allergies and were very sad to give her up. She will fill your ears with her dainty but frequent mew. Mostly, we suspect, her discussions are variations on “Pet me! Oh please, pet me!”
Sophie Mae never learned to share in kindergarten, so she demands to be your only furry love. She loves being brushed & sitting on your lap purring, but is also playful.
She has many many stories to share with you if you come visit her at Cat City in beautiful downtown Greenwood at the northwest corner of 85th & Greenwood. She is spayed, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $65 through the end of April. Cat City is open Tues-Fri from 2-6pm and Sat-Sun from 11am-5pm.
Wendell, last week’s featured pet, has adopted new humans and Pickles, our inaugural Pet of the Week just got adopted today! Lady is still awaiting your visit.

Update: Wendell has been adopted.
This week’s Pet of the Week from PAWS Cat City in Greenwood is Wendell.

Wendell is a 4 to 5-year-old boy with gorgeous swooping white fur and gold eyes. He has lots to say and won’t be shy about letting you know when he needs some lovin’. He is ever the gentleman with other cats, even allowing the ladies to cut in line for treats. He came to us as stray, so we don’t know about his past, but suspect it may have involved tuxedos and a piano player.
Please come meet this dashing fellow in the heart of beautiful downtown Greenwood at the northwest corner of 85th & Greenwood. He is neutered, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $90. Cat City is open Tues-Fri from 2-6pm and Sat-Sun from 11am-5pm.

Update: Simmons has been adopted.
This week’s Pet of the Week from PAWS Cat City in Greenwood is Simmons.
Simmons is a young male, about one year and 8 months old, with the ability to find the good in every situation. When he came to PAWS, he was malnourished, fearful and without hope. However, he learned to trust humans and slowly began to accept the love that was offered to him daily. We are so thankful that he gave us a chance because he has become a wonderful, loving boy.
He gets along great with cats, has a healthy curiosity and playfulness, and loves to be around people. He is such a joy! We hope he’ll find a companion who understands how far he’s come and is willing to help him along even further. Are you looking for a new pal who is sure to point out the goodness in life? Simmons is patiently waiting (and dreaming of his future) at PAWS Cat City in Seattle – 8503 Greenwood Ave N. He is neutered, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $90. Cat City is open Tues-Fri from 2-6pm and Sat-Sun from 11am-5pm.

Update: Lady has been adopted.
This week’s Pet of the Week from Greenwood’s PAWS Cat City is Lady.

Lady is a somewhat regal and quiet, long-haired beauty. She enjoys living a simple life, drama-free as she prefers to be the only cat around. As she stares with awe at laser pointers, she is reminded of her good ‘ole days that involved running and playing. She doesn’t move quite as quickly as she used to, but her mind is very active and her face reveals all the wisdom she has acquired over her 9 years. She hopes her next 9 years will be spent with a loving companion who will appreciate her peaceful presence, her gentle purrs and her love of being brushed. Until then, she is patiently waiting at PAWS Cat City in Greenwood (8503 Greenwood Ave N). Lady is spayed, has a microchip, is litter box trained, and is up-to-date on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $50.
