Alpine Tree and Wreath will open a Christmas tree lot in the parking lot next to Medicine Man Pharmacy at 323 N. 85th St., beginning the day after Thanksgiving. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (although they’ll open at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23).
Oregon-grown Noble and Grand firs will range from two-feet to eight-feet tall, with a six-foot Noble fir costing $64. If you purchase a tree, you’ll get 20 percent off wreaths or garland.
They’ll also have a collection bin out for Northwest Harvest so folks can donate non-perishable food.

Northwest Harvest is teaming up with Safeway stores to collect food for local food banks through July 24.
Through “Every Bag Counts,” Safeway customers can purchase a pre-packed bag for $10, and that food will go directly to a food bank in that community.
“Summer hunger is a reality for many families across the state,” Northwest Harvest’s Executive Director Shelley Rotondo said in a press release. “Children can’t access free or reduced-cost meals at school, summer feeding programs are stretched thin and the recession continues to impact many people including those who never thought they’d be standing in line at a food bank.”
