A number of items posted recently in the forum have caught our attention. Maybe you can help:
- Phinneydoc found a non-working cell phone in the bushes at the southeast corner of 73rd and 1st. Contact info here.
- A couple with a baby due in August is looking for a nanny share arrangement with another family. Post a reply here.
- In a semi-related post, another family is looking for infant daycare recommendations in the Greenwood/Green Lake area or downtown.
- Lastly, a collarless brown cat was found this morning at the corner of 67th and Linden. Unfortunately, it was hit by a vehicle and did not survive, the poster tells us. Animal control was called to pick up the animal. If you think the cat was yours, you can contact the poster here.

Update 10:50 a.m.: The dog’s owner has just been found.
Earlier: Laura sent us a note about an adorable dog she found this morning.
I found this little dog running across Greenwood between 74th and 75th with its chewed off leash dangling around 8:30 this morning. The dog has a tag and I have left a message for the owner, but thought Phinneywood would be a good place to post this in case they were at work or sent out a search party. Please call 206-818-4629.

Michelle sent us a note about two kittens found abandoned on Saturday morning:
This morning (12/26/09) two kittens were found in a green, reusable shopping bag in the backyard of 715 N. 95th St. in Greenwood. (Both alive and healthy, although they looked hungry/thirsty.) One was saved (and brought to the animal shelter at Interbay) but the other one ran off. Please be on the lookout for an orange tabby/short hair kitten that appears to be between the ages of 3 – 9 months.

Daniel asked us to spread the word about a car burglar who stole something very special to his family.
Someone broke into our car this morning while we were at the Woodland Park zoo – near the west entrance on Phinney – all they stole was our 2 year old son’s travel bag – it was a brown/burgundy brocade bag filled with childrens’ books, sound machine, baby monitor.
Also in that bag was a very special quilt that his grandmother made him- it’s brown, teal and yellow Log Cabin style on one side, and a very colorful pattern on the reverse side.
We are hoping that whoever stole the bag ditched it somewhere near the Woodland Park zoo / Phinney area – please email if you’ve seen it.
