Mina the cat is missing from Crown Hill

July 9th, 2011 by Doree

Update 7 p.m.: Mina has returned home safe and sound.

Stephanie tells us her cat Mina is missing from their home in Crown Hill.

My indoor cat is missing. We’ve combed through the whole house and have even used the bag of treats trick to get her out of when she is in curled up in a cubby to no avail. She seems to have made her way out of the house when I was out last night when the family was home. She’s always been an indoor cat and she is now 8 years old. She’s a smaller cat (around 8 or 9 pounds) and a bit nervous around people she does not know.

We live near 9th Ave NW and Holman. We have checked with the cat shelter and they don’t report any found cats near our location with her description.

If you’ve seen Mina, call Stephanie at 206-501-8256.

Collie found near Green Lake, now waiting for owner in PhinneyWood area

May 20th, 2011 by Doree

Update: Dog and owners have been reunited!

Erica and her family found a collie outside the Green Lake Zeek’s Pizza Thursday night around 8 p.m. and took the dog home with them to keep it safe.

My kids and I saw this adorable dog at Ben & Jerry’s/Zeek’s at Green Lake tonight around 8. The guys at Zeek’s said someone found him running around loose, and tied his leash to a lightpost. (The Zeek’s guys were very willing to take him home & help track down his owner when their shifts were over–very sweet!–but we took the little sweet pup home with us bc my neighbor is a vet.)

I’m assuming the purple dog leash attached belongs to the dog, but I’m not positive.

He was super friendly to my kids. He has a teeny limp; hope he didn’t get that while roaming about today.

My neighbor will bring him to Northwest Veterinary Hospital tomorrow to see if there’s a chip.

Stray dog found at 9th and 92nd in Greenwood/Crown Hill

April 11th, 2011 by Doree

Stephanie sent us this note about a stray dog hanging around:

We have a very friendly stray dog around our house. She seems to be underfed with some injuries to her claws. We do not have a fenced yard and cannot bring her in (due to children and cats). She understands “sit” and “stay” and brought my husband a stick while he was outside. She does not have a collar. We’re wondering if there is a family missing a dog.

Possible lost dog near West Woodland school

February 18th, 2011 by Doree

Jamee tells us she found what appears to be a lost dog this morning, but couldn’t get close enough to catch her and bring her home until the owners are found.

At around 11am this morning I was driving past West Woodland Elementary near the intersections of NW 58th and 4th Ave NW and saw a dog run across the street by itself. It’s a very pretty shepard mix with blue eyes and looks like it could still be near puppy age. I think it’s a she because she has a hot pink collar with paw prints on it, but no tags. She seemed friendly and playful but definitely scared and skiddish and was apprehensive to approach me. She did not look mangy so I’m guessing she may have gotten out of the yard where she lives. I would have taken her to my back yard so she was safe but I think she was too scared. Very sweet dog so I hope she’s okay.
