Elizabeth tells us she saw a dog that looked lost at the southbound 358 bus stop at North 85th Street and Aurora Avenue North around 7:10 a.m. today.
This morning I saw a dog that seemed to be lost. It was small and black, possibly a terrier mix, with a green or blue collar and no tags that I could see. It seemed friendly but confused, more like a lost pet than a street dog. I couldn’t take it to my apartment for safety, but if its owner reads PhinneyWood maybe s/he can find it before it wanders far.

Update Sept. 26: Jed’s owner has been found!
Earlier: At the risk of becoming all-pets-all-the-time, we’ve got another lost-and-found pet to tell you about.
Jed found a puppy on North 95th Street and Aurora Avenue North about 10:30 p.m. Sunday night.

It looks like a pitbull or pitbull mix, a very young male tan dog in good health with white belly and white toes on front feet and black collar, no tags. We will bring him to the animal shelter tomorrow morning and post the location but if anyone knows where his home is, please call me at 206-354-5194.

Update Sunday: Suge’s owner reports that she has been found, thanks to a PhinneyWood reader tip, more than 30 blocks north of her home, near North 105th Street and Aurora Avenue North, in a parking lot with an injured leg.
Earlier: Yet another lost pet to tell you about. A 12-year-old female Siamese cat named ”Suge” (short for Sugar) didn’t come home last night from her home near North 78th Street and Greenwood Avenue North.

This photo was taken several years ago but she looks the same now as she did then– small/medium frame, white/gray coat, black paws, blue eyes, she is a very typical pure bred siamese, we hope she has not been stolen or injured.
We have been looking all day around the neighborhood and calling her and she still hasn’t shown up, which is not like her, because usually she’s a homebody and never goes far from home even when she’s outdoors…She has a bell with a collar that contains all of our information. She likes to be rubbed on her tummy.
You can reach us directly at 503-895-7225 or 541-603-1944.

Yet another cat has been found in Greenwood-Phinney. Here’s a note from Joe:
An incredibly sweet stray has called our front yard home for the last few days. Unfortunately we’re going to take her to the Humane Society tomorrow as she has a small wound on her side and we can’t have pets in our home.

If you have any information on the owner of this cat, please put a note in comments or email us and we’ll forward the info to Joe.

A black cat named Mocha got out of her house near 1st Avenue NW and NW 72nd Street on July 3, and is still missing.
Her owner, Julie, said she wants to thank everyone who has been looking for her. She also asks neighbors to please check the hiding places in their yards, because Mocha is “a true scaredy cat who won’t approach strangers.”

Mocha is about 7 years old, all black (including whiskers and nose), about 10 pounds, with large round eyes.
If you’ve seen Mocha, call Julie at 206-406-5704.

Update 7 p.m.: Mina has returned home safe and sound.
Stephanie tells us her cat Mina is missing from their home in Crown Hill.

My indoor cat is missing. We’ve combed through the whole house and have even used the bag of treats trick to get her out of when she is in curled up in a cubby to no avail. She seems to have made her way out of the house when I was out last night when the family was home. She’s always been an indoor cat and she is now 8 years old. She’s a smaller cat (around 8 or 9 pounds) and a bit nervous around people she does not know.
We live near 9th Ave NW and Holman. We have checked with the cat shelter and they don’t report any found cats near our location with her description.
If you’ve seen Mina, call Stephanie at 206-501-8256.
