Update: Dexter has been found!
Bridget tells us her new dog wandered away from home this morning.
He wandered off about 2 hours ago, we live at 65th and Dayton. He is a new dog so he does not have tags yet. Medium-large dog, doberman pinscher mix, looks a lot like a tall beagle. Someone said they saw him on Dayton at 70th about 2 hours ago, with a woman looking for his owners. If found, please call 206-406-6323 (Bridget). The dog’s name is DEXTER, and he generally comes when called.

ZoeDog writes in the Forum that they found a “a large, male, unneutered dog (chestnut with cream-color markings around his neck)” at North 71st Street and Fremont Avenue North on Tuesday. He did not have a name tag or a microchip, but did have a very worn rabies tag with a vet’s number that was unreadable.

The dog is now at the Seattle Animal Shelter, case #9267. Their phone is 206-386-PETS. ZoeDog posted more pictures here.

Update: Cation has been found!
Alina just sent us this note about her missing kitty:
My baby cat, Cation, is missing. He is about five pounds, eleven months old…He’s been missing since last night (Mon July 27). He lives at 59th and Phinney. I know he’s very scared and probably hiding in some tiny space and making sad meows. He’s an indoor cat but escaped so the outdoors is very new to him. If you see him, please call at any time 206-465-1936. Thank you for your help.

Patty is desperately searching for her injured cat, which got out of the house last weekend.

Our beloved cat Henry is lost and we’re despairing! The poor little guy was injured a few weeks ago (we think hit by a car) and has been rehabilitating at home after a surgery. He’s been doing better but is in NO way a candidate to be outdoors. Unfortunately, he made the great escape Saturday morning (May 8 ) and we haven’t seen him or heard word about him since.
Henry is a shorthaired, mostly black cat with white belly and paw markings and green eyes. He had an abdominal surgery so has a healing incision on his belly and shaved forelegs. Underweight due to recent calamity. He is very timid and may run (awkwardly) if approached. He does not have his collar on.
(This is a picture of Frankie, Henry’s nearly identical brother. The white blaze between Henry’s eyes is less distinct. He is also distinguishable due to his shaved forelegs and abdomen.)
Last seen: May 8 at 11:00 AM (70th St. and Linden Ave.) Call Patty day or night: (206) 818-2318.

Update: The dog’s owner has been found, thanks to his microchip.
Mary tells us she found a yellow lab sniffing around her yard on Phinney between 68th and 70th streets.
VERY friendly and VERY skinny, ribs showing; no collar or tags. He willingly followed me into my yard where he is currently being persecuted by my springer. I’ll…hopefully get him to the vet to scan for a microchip. He seems, honestly, like either an abandoned dog or one who has been lost for a long time. A really nice dog. He’s a young male…with what looks like an eye infection.

If you know who this yellow lab belongs to, please email us and we’ll put you in touch with Mary.

Heather says she saw a dog running loose this morning and it looked scared and lost.
I first saw it near Herkimer Coffee where it ran west across Greenwood Ave and down 72nd. I saw it again about 7AM on the west side of the ridge on 65th and 2nd. I tried to get it to come to me but it ran away back toward the east on 65th. It was a thin, smallish (35lb) dog, brown and grey tiger-stripe with a black leather collar with stars on it. There were tags on the collar but I couldn’t get close enough to see any info. Hope it finds its way home.
Anyone else see the dog or know if it found its way back home?

Update: Maggie has been found!
Earlier: Scott and Deb tell us that their cat, Maggie, has been missing since Sunday from North 70th Street and 1st Avenue NW.
She’s a large buff-colored domestic shorthair with tabby markings. She’s probably trapped in an infrequently-opened potting shed, garage, or crawlspace that was opened on the sunny Sunday.
Our other cat (her brother) has been wandering the neighborhood meowing for his sister, but no luck yet.

Liz tells us that her neighbor’s cat has gone missing from Fremont Avenue and North 96th Street.
Her name is Clover. She’s grey and has large teeth that look sort of like fangs that hang over her bottom lip. She hasn’t been seen since Monday, and she has a collar but no tag. She is very friendly and I am quite attached to her as well…Any tips can come to me on my cell at 206-227-9418.
