Ball python on the loose from Phinney Ridge

July 1st, 2015 by Doree

Sharri tells us her ball python escaped from her home at the bottom of North 59th Street in Phinney Ridge.

He’s entirely harmless…in fact he’s a curious and friendly animal. He’s known for escaping, that’s how I came to adopt him, actually. I’d just like a few more eyes around the neighborhood if they see him. My bet is that he’d head downhill if anything, and I’m at the bottom of 59th. He’s about 4.5 ft long, maybe 2-3 inches in girth. He has an eye wound on his right eye, which makes him pretty distinctive.

He’s black with brown turn-key patterns. He’s friendly, but shy, and should be fine to pick up. He’ll coil or ball up if people move very quickly toward him, and sometimes he hisses, but he’s all bark and no bite. He can go in a pillow case or carried for transport, but should be placed in a large, holed tupperware container or cardboard box lined with paper towels, somewhere quiet and probably a bit dark. Ball pythons are nocturnal, and he’s usually happy to sit in one place all day long. They like heat, but he should be fine for the time it’d take me to get to whoever finds him.

If you’ve seen it, please email her at sharri@u.washington.edu

Biscuit the cat is missing from Phinney-Greenwood

April 22nd, 2015 by Doree

Ilga says her orange and white cat, named Biscuit, has been missing since early Tuesday morning from Greenwood Avenue and North 76th Street. He has stomach issues and needs medication.

He was wearing a purple collar with fake rhinestones and a magnet to get in and out of his cat door. He’s also chipped. She says he’s very shy but may be hissing because of his stomach issues.

If you’ve seen Biscuit, she says to call or text day or night: 206-707-3555.

Young male tuxedo cat wandering around 2nd Avenue NW

March 4th, 2015 by Doree

Barb tells us a young male tuxedo cat has been wandering around on 2nd Avenue NW between NW 70th and 72nd streets and she’s concerned that he’s lost.

He’s very friendly, and has a very loud yowl. He makes his presence known. He flops down and rolls around as soon as I approach him. He is very trusting and wants to relate and comes to “kitty.”

He comes by late afternoon or early evening. Maybe he’s doing rounds, or maybe his owner lets him out at that time. Or maybe he’s lost. Is this cat yours or a neighbor’s?

Please contact Barb at 206-941-0840 or barb@barbrowandesign.com.
