Stray dog found at 9th and 92nd in Greenwood/Crown Hill

April 11th, 2011 by Doree

Stephanie sent us this note about a stray dog hanging around:

We have a very friendly stray dog around our house. She seems to be underfed with some injuries to her claws. We do not have a fenced yard and cannot bring her in (due to children and cats). She understands “sit” and “stay” and brought my husband a stick while he was outside. She does not have a collar. We’re wondering if there is a family missing a dog.

Possible lost dog near West Woodland school

February 18th, 2011 by Doree

Jamee tells us she found what appears to be a lost dog this morning, but couldn’t get close enough to catch her and bring her home until the owners are found.

At around 11am this morning I was driving past West Woodland Elementary near the intersections of NW 58th and 4th Ave NW and saw a dog run across the street by itself. It’s a very pretty shepard mix with blue eyes and looks like it could still be near puppy age. I think it’s a she because she has a hot pink collar with paw prints on it, but no tags. She seemed friendly and playful but definitely scared and skiddish and was apprehensive to approach me. She did not look mangy so I’m guessing she may have gotten out of the yard where she lives. I would have taken her to my back yard so she was safe but I think she was too scared. Very sweet dog so I hope she’s okay.

Huge dog roaming around neighborhood

January 16th, 2011 by Doree

Jen sent us a note about a huge dog she saw roaming the neighborhood all alone. Do you know who he belongs to?

There is a gigantic, black and white male American Bulldog or Pitbull roaming around. Ran in to him with my dogs on 70th and Dayton, had a squabble (my dog is a grumpy old man) and he moved on. I put my dogs in the house and went after him for a few blocks. He crossed paths with a small dog on a leash and didn’t have a problem at all, so I don’t think he is aggressive or anything. I couldn’t get a leash on him, he was a little skittish (although pretty friendly), seemed like he was on a mission. Last I saw, he was trotting north on Fremont (around 74th). If anyone tries to get a leash on him, they may want to bribe him with cheese or something.

Have you seen Autumn the dog?

December 23rd, 2010 by Doree

Update: Autumn has been found. Here’s the note from her owners:

A Christmas Miracle…. Autumn was found. Autumn wandered into the yard of a kind woman named Rebecca in the Ballard/Crown Hill area. Rebecca and her family graciously took her in on Christmas Eve. We received the call today from her mother who was visiting and also a dog lover that they had Autumn. We picked her up immediately and received the best Christmas present ever. We thank Rebecca and Karen and family.

Jean and her family are desperately looking for Autumn, who they just adopted from a rescue foster home a few days ago.

She is about 40 lbs,2-3 years old, mostly white with tan on her head and behind with some black. Probably a Spaniel mix possibly with Border Collie/Australian Shephard mix. She was last sighted heading E on 80th and ran away from Diva Espresso, getting loose from her collar with her name on it. She is very timid and shy but quite affectionate.

Please contact 206-795-6597 or 206-898-5191. Her worried new family misses her.

Lucy the dog found – is she yours?

November 11th, 2010 by Doree

Update: Lucy’s owners have been found and she is now home.

Jen tells us she found this beautiful dog on the east side of Phinney Ridge late this morning.

About 2 hours ago this dog approached me as I was getting out of my car at 68th & Dayton. She is a super nice, friendly dog. She is medium build, mostly black with a bit of brown around her face and on her legs. She is obviously well cared for and has a collar and tag on but it only lists her name (Lucy) and phone number. I have called the number and left a message but the message is generic with no name info and I want to make sure I get in touch with the owners. I have her at my house now and she is doing splendidly with my young kids & 2 other dogs. If I don’t hear anything by tonight I’ll take her by my vet tomorrow to see if she has a microchip.

If this is your dog or you know who the owner is, please email us and we’ll put you in touch with Jen.

Have you seen this dog?

September 9th, 2010 by Doree

Update 3:45 Thursday: Blue was found wandering in the woods in the Blue Ridge neighborhood. His owner reports he’s dehydrated and hurt his leg, but he should be okay. And he says thanks to all the neighbors who kept an eye out for Blue.

Posters wth a picture of “Blue” have been handed out in downtown Greenwood. Blue went missing on Sept. 6. and his owners are offering a $200 reward:

He is a neutered male about 4-5 years old, black lab/shepardheeler mix. He got out from a relative’s house on NW 130th and 7th NW around 5pm on 9/6/10, and was last seen about 830pm that evening by 120th and Phinney. Possibly headed southeast from there. He had a red nylon collar on with current tags, but might have come off, and he is micro-chipped. He is probably scared and skittish, but might be receptive to females. He is not an aggressive dog. July 30th, 2010 by Doree

ZoeDog writes in the Forum that they found a “a large, male, unneutered dog (chestnut with cream-color markings around his neck)” at North 71st Street and Fremont Avenue North on Tuesday. He did not have a name tag or a microchip, but did have a very worn rabies tag with a vet’s number that was unreadable.

The dog is now at the Seattle Animal Shelter, case #9267. Their phone is 206-386-PETS. ZoeDog posted more pictures here.
