Mina the cat is missing from Crown Hill

July 9th, 2011 by Doree

Update 7 p.m.: Mina has returned home safe and sound.

Stephanie tells us her cat Mina is missing from their home in Crown Hill.

My indoor cat is missing. We’ve combed through the whole house and have even used the bag of treats trick to get her out of when she is in curled up in a cubby to no avail. She seems to have made her way out of the house when I was out last night when the family was home. She’s always been an indoor cat and she is now 8 years old. She’s a smaller cat (around 8 or 9 pounds) and a bit nervous around people she does not know.

We live near 9th Ave NW and Holman. We have checked with the cat shelter and they don’t report any found cats near our location with her description.

If you’ve seen Mina, call Stephanie at 206-501-8256.

Stray cat found near Fremont & 97th

April 9th, 2011 by Doree

Kylene tells us she’s found a stray cat, and is hoping someone recognizes him.

I have a very friendly cat who is always inviting friends over. His current new friend does not have a collar but does have a terrible limp in his back leg. This morning I found him sleeping on my back porch and letting out a very sad mew every once in a while. I was just wondering if he has a home and a family who misses him. I live between Fremont and Linden on 97th.

Jersey is PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week

December 6th, 2010 by Doree

This week’s PAWS Cat City Pet of the Week is Jersey.

If there was ever a companion who truly knew the meaning of relaxation, it would definitely be Jersey. She enjoys showing off her luxurious, black and white coat while lounging around on her back, or sharing her cute and sensitive side as she curls up in her donut bed with her tail wrapped neatly around her nose. But do not be fooled, Jersey loves attention the most! She will spend her time exploring and pouncing on fleece mice but when the day is done, she prefers the company of her people and a loving lap to lounge on. She is a mellow, loving, curious, and polite three-and-a-half year old lady who can’t wait to meet you. During our Home for the Holidays promotion, her adoption fee is $72. Cat City is open Tue, Wed & Fri noon – 6 pm, Thu noon – 7 pm and Sat – Sun 11 am – 5 pm.

Jersey is waiting for your lap at PAWS Cat City (8503 Greenwood in Seattle). She is spayed, microchipped, litter box trained, and up-to-date on her vaccines.

The upcoming holiday season might be a perfect time for your family to welcome a new animal friend. Through January 3, there is a 20% discount on the adoption fees for cats and dogs six months and older. If you’re ready, come on in and we’ll help you find your perfect match!

The folks at Phinney Ridge Animal Hospital at 8205 Greenwood Ave. N. posted in the forum about a stray cat that’s been hanging around the clinic for a while now.

The staff here at Phinney Ridge Animal Hospital are hoping to find some info on a VERY handsome cat…thats been hanging around here off and on for the past few weeks but he’s also been spotted here as late as last summer.

PAWS Cat City leaving Greenwood for U-District

November 4th, 2010 by Doree

PAWS Cat City at 8503 Greenwood Ave. N. announced today that it is moving out of Greenwood and into a larger space in the University District.

PAWS Cat City has been in Greenwood for more than 13 years. It will move by mid-December to 5200 Roosevelt Way NE.

“It was a bittersweet decision,” PAWS Executive Director Annette Laico said in a press release. “Greenwood has been such a supportive, loving community, and we want to thank everyone for the many great years there. It is hard to say farewell. At the same time we’re excited for the possibilities at the new location.”

The new space will give PAWS Cat City more room for cats and a larger lobby for visitors, and it has parking.

Last year, PAWS Cat City found homes for more than 850 cats and kittens.
