The Phinney Neighborhod Preschool Co-op (PNPC) is once again holding a series of camps for kids this summer.

The Dragon Room Summer Program is a series of week-long, half-day camps for young children sponsored by the Phinney Neighborhood Preschool Co-op (PNPC) and held in the PNPC’s enchanted Dragon Room at the Phinney Neighborhood Center. Open to PNPC families and community members, the Dragon Room Summer Program offers rich and diverse classes for preschoolers and elementary aged children. The classes are drop-off so do not require parental involvement, but you are always welcome to stay for all or part of the class to explore along with your child.

See the website for class descriptions and registration information. Registration opens to current PNPC families on March 29, to PNA members on April 2 and to the general public on April 5.

Whittier Heights Preschool, at Dibble Ave. NW and NW 73rd St., has a few openings left in its summer camp schedule. (Disclosure: The PhinneyWood kid attends WHP.)

Preschool camps for ages 3-6 run 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday-Friday and cost $135. School-age camps for ages 7-12 run 1:30-5:30 p.m. (including some field trips) Monday-Friday and cost $150.

Owner Heike Burr says she has a few openings for preschool kids in Artapalooza, which runs this week; Creepy Crawly, June 29-July 2 (meets Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.); Under the Sea, July 27-31; Treasure Trove, Aug. 3-7; Jurassic Park, Aug. 17-21; and More Artapalooza, Aug. 31-Sept. 4.

She also has openings in the school-age camps: Garden Path, July 20-24; Under the Sea, July 27-31; Treasure Trove, Aug. 3-7; and More Artapalooza, Aug. 31-Sept. 4.

PNA Kids! has added another summer camp to its programming. The new Art Camp is for 2nd to 8th graders and will be held in the art room at Whittier Elementary School. The first of seven week-long summer sessions begins June 22.

Art topics taught by the four experienced artists include: Mixed Media Creations; Adventures in Printmaking; Biological Illustration; Green Art; Colorful Art; Comics and Cartooning; and Paper Mache.

The cost is $110 per week for Phinney Neighborhood Association members; $125 for non-members.

PNA Kids! also has a Preschool Summer Camp for ages 3-5, and a Summer Safari for ages 5-12.
