I "found" a large, male, unneutered dog (chestnut with cream-color markings around his neck). Actually... other passers-by found him, tied him to a tree, then continued walking (the dog was lost with his leash).

Regardless... we took him to the Seattle Animal Shelter with the hopes that he can be reunited with his humans.

He does not have a microchip or a tag. The tag on his collar is a very, very worn rabies tag (yes, we tried to contact the vet associated with the tag, but it's so worn that we couldn't get complete information off the tag).

If he's yours or you know with whom he lives, please contact the Seattle Animal Shelter at 206-386-PETS. The case # is 9267.

  2. I don't recognize him, but thank you for stepping up and taking care of him. I hope that if my dog ever got loose, someone like you would take the time to keep her safe.

What a cutie! I walk dogs at the shelter each Friday so I will see if he gets claimed.

sezdog---If your dog ever gets loose and if your dog has a tag on her collar with your phone number and/or address, I will personally deliver her to your home. Further, I will give you gifts for making it so easy. I can't tell you the number of dogs I have found, but cannot get in touch with human because the dog has no tags with contact information.

In the meantime, I'm keeping faith that this missing dog will find a good forever home with top notch humans.

Christy---Kudos to you for walking dogs at the shelter. What a cool thing to do. I bet all the dogs love you.

  6. Zoedog--Likewise! It's such a small thing to put a collar & up-to-date tags on your dog.

No one has claimed him/her, though they do have through tomorrow before he becomes city property. He'll probably be temperment tested Sunday and, assuming he is not aggressive (he sure doesn't seem to be), will be up for adoption shortly thereafter.

"Jack" is up for adoption now! Click on the middle picture, where he's shaking--it's adorable. I walked him the other day and he's a good boy.

  9. Thanks for the update, Christy. He's a handsome, focused, & happy looking boy. As noted in his bio, the fact that he's food motivated is a big plus for training. I hope he finds a special home soon!
