How many people also have water in their basement? We usually get a little around the edges in our unfinished basement, but we had a solid 2-3 inches in the entire basement last night. Many of our neighbors have had this issue during storms as well--we are west of Greenlake, in the flat part of the neighborhood below the ridge (above 65th, west of Linden). I think our area just has a high water table. So, who else was shop-vac'ing last night?

MemberI did. I'm on 102nd near Dayton. I have a concrete block foundation rather than poured concrete, so that doesn't help. Was able to keep up with it with the 2 small electric pumps I bought back during my first flood in Jan 2006. Not the worst flooding we've had...I think it was in 2007 there was water streaming through the walls under pressure.
Drove by Lowe's, Home Depot, Sears, and the Home Depot near Costco around 3:30 yesterday, but they all had already sold out their portable pumps.
