Farmers Market, concerts, opening weekend at Taproot, Park Pub’s anniversary celebration this weekend

Here are a few events happening in Phinney Ridge and Greenwood this weekend. Check our Events calendar for more.

The Phinney Farmers Market, from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Friday in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Fresh fruit, veggies, bread, meat, eggs, flowers, cider and lots of dining options. If you’re walking there from Greenwood, the Phinney Farmers Market Walking Group leaves the Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N. 85th St., at 3 p.m.

Our neighborhood’s monthly Art Up Chow Down PhinneyWood Art Walk is from 6-9 p.m. Friday at dozens of art galleries and other businesses from North 65th to 87th streets. Check out the Artwalk website for a list of participating venues and artists.

It’s opening weekend for Taproot Theatre’s musical “Big Fish,” at 204 N. 85th St.

Pacific NW Folklore Society presents Saint September at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N.; Little Sara and the Night Owls play there at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Park Pub celebrates its third anniversary starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday at 6114 Phinney Ave. N. They’ll have live music from the Barrelhouse Jive Cats, a dunk tank, cornhole tournaments and other fun surprises.

If you’re heading over to Ballard this weekend, remember that Seafood Fest will take over much of the neighborhood’s downtown, closing streets and rerouting Metro routes 40 and 44.
