Pride Rainbow Hop at Phinney-Greenwood businesses this weekend

by | May 31, 2016

Our neighborhood’s fourth annual family-friendly Pride Rainbow Hop is from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. this Saturday. A number of businesses on Greenwood Avenue between North 70th and 87th streets have signed up to host special activities highlighting the value of diversity.

Participating businesses will be marked with sandwich boards with rainbow windsocks. Pick up a map at any participating business. Kids who go to six Pride Rainbow Hop spots and get a stamp on their map will get a free T-shirt that will also be good for a surprise treat at the Zoo this weekend.

The event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. at the Greenwood Library, 8016 Greenwood Ave. N., with Drag Queen Story Time with Sparkle Leigh, who will read stories, lead dances and help kids make rainbow-themed bookmarks.

Popular local band the Not-Its! perform a free concert at 1 p.m. at Naked City, 8364 Greenwood Ave. N.

Pride Rainbow Hop is presented by the Phinney Neighborhood Association Business Group and sponsored by Phinney Estate Law, Nutty Squirrel Gelato, Greenwood Hardware, A-1 Piano, Illumination Learning Studio, Greenwood Library, Verity Credit Union and Naked City Brewery.
