Artwalk, string quartet, Casper Babypants, preschool open houses in Greenwood-Phinney Ridge this weekend

Winter Blood Drive from 1-7 p.m. Friday at the Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Make an appointment online or just stop by.

Monthly Art Up PhinneyWood Artwalk at dozens of galleries and businesses throughout the neighborhood from 6-9 p.m. Friday. (See the website for a full list of locations, artists and a map.) Phinney Center Gallery presents the opening reception for Travel the World with Larry Heyert and Angie Hinh. Nutty Squirrel Gelato, 7212 Greenwood Ave. N., presents photography by Delaney Hawley. Lucky Dog Clothing, 8201 Greenwood Ave. N., is hosting Native American woodcarver Rick T. Williams and his totems, including a scale replica of the 34-foot totem he helped create for the Seattle Center to honor his brother, John T. Williams, who was killed by a police officer in 2010.

The Girsky String Quartet performs Haydn and Beethoven at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N. 85th St.

Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., presents a Pacific NW Folklore Society concert with Avery Hill at 7:30 p.m. Friday; and Little Sara and the Night Owls in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Free; food, beer and wine available.

Ridge Romp presents Casper Babypants at two shows on Saturday: 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., in the Brick Building.

Ballard Preschool Co-op Open House from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at 7503 18th Ave NW. RSVP by Friday, Jan. 8 to [email protected].

Broadview Co-Op Preschool Open House from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at 11051 Phinney Ave. N.

Joli, a French/Italian restaurant opening at NW 65th Street and 7th Avenue NW this spring, is finishing up its Kickstarter campaign with an oyster and champagne celebration from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday at Chocolat Vitale, a few blocks east at 6257 3rd Ave. NW.
