Phinney Ridge Community Council meets Tuesday to discuss housing developments, parking

by | Oct 30, 2015

The Phinney Ridge Community Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.
The main new business on the agenda is a discussion of two housing/retail development proposals, plus  neighborhood parking concerns.
Phinney Flats, at 6726 Greenwood Ave. N., will replace the brick building currently housing Ed’s Kort Haus and Stumbling Goat restaurant with a four-story, multi-use building with 60 units of housing and no parking. (One of Phinney Flats’ developers says they plan to bring both restaurants back to the new building.) The project’s first Early Design Guidance meeting was last week.
A three-story building with eight small efficiency dwelling units and two one-bedroom apartments, plus 670 square feet of commercial space at ground level will replace the building currently housing Toepfer Construction at 6528 Phinney Ave. N. No parking is proposed. The Department of Planning and Development approved a Streamlined Design Review Application for that project.
