Library hosting free art workshop for seniors, film festival of films directed by women

Seattle Public Library is holding a free eight-week workshop series for adults ages 55 and up to learn the fundamentals of drawing, watercolor and collage with a local artist. Workshops are designed for any skill level, even absolute beginners. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required. The workshop series at the Greenwood Library, 8016 Greenwood Ave. N., is from 12-2 p.m. on Mondays, Sept. 14 – Nov. 2. SPL is also hosting a free “Directed by Women” film festival at several branches in September. The Greenwood Library , 8016 Greenwood Ave. N., will show “Frida” from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3. The Broadview Library, 12755 Greenwood Ave. N., will show “Little Women” from 1-3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9

In addition to the film screenings, the Library has put together several lists of additional materials for film lovers to check-out.
