Looks like a beautiful weekend in the neighborhood. Here are a few events to keep you busy. Check our Events calendar for more.
Traveling to Vietnam — Slideshow and Presentation from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N. 85th St.
The Phinney Farmers Market is from 3-7 p.m. Friday in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Center at 6532 Phinney Ave. N., with fresh produce, bread, meat, ice cream, flowers, etc., and several food truck options. Plus, the Greenwood Library is hosting a kite-making workshop and someone from the PNA’s Tool Lending Library will share bike maintenance tools and advice.
Opening reception from 7-9 p.m. Friday for “Cultural Reflections” at the Phinney Center Gallery.
Seattle ReCreative Saturday Skill Share: Mending Workshop with Green Eileen from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 8408 Greenwood Ave. N.
Free Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Christian Church, 8018 Fremont Ave. N.
Free Fitness Kickboxing trial class from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Emerald City Karate, 8314 Greenwood Ave. N.
Meet Athima Chansancha, author of “100 Things To Do In Seattle Before You Die” from 2:30-4 p.m. Saturday at Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N. Couth Buzzard also presents Little Sara and the Night Owls in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday; and Open Jazz Jam with Kenny Mandell from 2-4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Community Center Strategic Plan Mini-Summit from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion. Help Parks improve its services. If you can’t attend, you can email comments to [email protected].
Phinney Neighborhood Community Chorus concert to benefit a school in Haiti at 7 p.m. Saturday at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, 7500 Greenwood Ave. N.
Traffic-wise:

  • The Fremont Fair is this weekend. Roads will be closed and buses rerouted on Saturday for the Solstice Parade. See Metro’s Service Advisories page for reroute information.
  • The Mariners are playing Houston Friday through Sunday, and the Sounders are playing San Jose Saturday afternoon, so be aware of more traffic heading downtown.
