Two organizations looking for hosts for international students, Fellows

by | Oct 2, 2014

Two more organizations are looking for host families for international students.

Educatius International is looking for both temporary and long-term host families for students attending Garfield, Ballard, Ingraham, Nathan Hale and Roosevelt High Schools.

Host families are asked to provide a bed, dresser and desk for the student. Most of all, the family is asked to provide a loving, welcoming home for a high school student from another country. This is an opportunity to share your life and your culture while learning a new culture. Host families have this opportunity during the school year for a semester or a year while receiving local support from a coordinator. We are also in need of temporary families, who can host a student while another family is out of town or can no longer host due to family emergencies.

If you can host, contact Juliana Trombly at 949-212-6647 or [email protected].

iLEAP has 13 International Fellows coming from Myanmar, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Cambodia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bolivia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Vietnam. Host families are needed from Oct. 18-Dec. 13 for either four weeks or eight weeks. If interested, contact Caitlin Terashima at [email protected].

The iLEAP International Fellowship (IF) is a long-term investment in community-based leadership in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Located in the Good Shepherd Center in Wallingford, iLEAP is an international nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire and renew social leaders and global citizens through integrated leadership programs that ignite hope and transformation in the world (www.iLEAP.org).

iLEAP would also like to extend the invitation to Phinney Ridge residents to join us for our Open House — a free event filled with globally inspired mingling, delicious food and drink, and presentations from our International Fellows. The event will be on October 29th in the Good Shepherd Center. Registration is required.
