Farmers market, live music and play day at Boys & Girls Club in Phinneywood land this weekend

Here are a few events coming up in Phinney Ridge and Greenwood this weekend. Check our Events calendar for more.

Storytelling with Steph at Phinney Books, 7405 Phinney Ave. N., from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday.

The Phinney Farmers Market is from 3-7 p.m. Friday in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Fresh fruit, veggies, bread, ice cream, popsicles, flowers and several dining options.

Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., presents Little Sara and the Night Owls in concert (featuring Couth Buzzard barista Sara Depp and Greenwood jazz musician Kenny Mandell) at 7:30 p.m. Friday; and Laura Lagerstedt & Pink Camel and Val D’ Alessio in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tilted Thunder Rail Birds present Summer Field Play Day from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the North Seattle Boys & Girls Club, 8635 Fremont Ave. N. in Greenwood.

If you’re heading downtown this weekend, keep in mind that it’s Bumbershoot weekend at the Seattle Center. Plus the Mariners play at 7:10 p.m. Friday, 6:10 p.m. Saturday and 1:10 p.m. Sunday; there’s the PAX Expo gamer’s convention at the Convention Center Friday through Monday (20,000 people are expected each day); the Sounders play at 1 p.m. Saturday; and the NFL Kickoff Run – Seahawks 5K is Monday morning.
