Here are a few highlights of events in and near the neighborhood this weekend. Check our Events calendar any time for more.

This is opening weekend for Taproot Theatre‘s newest production, “Diana of Dobson’s.”

Greenwood Garage Sale Day, Flea Market and Tool Sale is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. More than 100 neighborhood garage sales are registered. Check out the interactive map and listing of what you’ll find at each sale. Plus there’s a flea market and tool sale at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. And you can bring your old electronics, computers, clothing and CFL light bulbs to be recycled.

Seattle Parks and Recreation will be selling life jackets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, at Green Lake’s Evans Pool, 7201 E. Green Lake Dr. N. Life jackets are available in sizes from infant to youth large for $20; and $30 for adult sizes.

Soulumination, a non-profit organization that provides free portraits for families facing terminal and life-threatening illness, is hosting a fundraising clothing sale called “Fashion for the Soul, A Woman’s boutique” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 5201 11th Ave. NW. Appetizers and adult beverages will be served. Cash and credit cards accepted.

Naked City Brewery, 8564 Greenwood Ave. N., is hosting a new concert series called “Naked Sessions.” It begins Saturday at 8 p.m. with Big Sur. Cost is $10 at Brown Paper Tickets.

Ballard’s huge annual Syttende Mai Parade (celebrating Norway’s Constitution Day) is Saturday, starting at 6 p.m. Traffic and parking will be a mess and Metro buses will be rerouted in the area, so plan to bike or walk if you can.

Bells of the Sound Handbell Concert from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Woodland Park Presbyterian Church, 225 N. 70th St.

Acoustic Sundays Open Mic at Tim’s Tavern, 602 N. 105th St., from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Sunday.
