Portions of 80th Street to be closed this week and next for concrete grinding

Seattle Department of Transportation will grind the concrete surface of two portions of 80th Street to improve traction at locations that are slippery due to heavy rain, snow or ice.

Work is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flaggers will be on site to provide local access and guidance.

Thursday-Friday, May 15-16:
NW 80th Street between 8th Avenue NW and 3rd Avenue NW (local access only). The work zone is NW 80th Street between Eighth Avenue NW and Sixth Avenue NW. Eastbound traffic will be detoured via 8th Avenue NW, NW 65th Street, and 3rd Avenue NW. Westbound traffic will be detoured via 3rd Avenue NW, NW 85th Street, and 8th Avenue NW.

Monday, May 19:
North 80th Street between Greenwood Avenue North and Linden Avenue North (local access only). The work zone is North 80th Street between Dayton Avenue North and Fremont Avenue North. Eastbound traffic will be detoured via Greenwood Avenue North, North 55th Street, and Linden Avenue North. Westbound traffic will be detoured via Linden Avenue North, North 85th Street, and Greenwood Avenue North.
