Musical tribute to Pete Seeger at Phinney Center Saturday

by | Jan 30, 2014

Seattle Folklore Society and the Seattle Labor Chorus present a tribute to legendary folk singer Pete Seeger. This free, all-ages event is from 7-10 p.m. Saturday at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N, in the Brick Building’s Community Hall.

One of America’s best-loved folksingers, an untiring activist and environmentalist, and an inspiration to many, passed away on January 27th, 2014. The Seattle Folklore Society and the Seattle Labor Chorus invite all to a free all-ages community celebration of the life, spirit and music of Pete Seeger.

Come as you are, bring a song or a story or a snack to share if you wish. This will be a participatory evening, as what could be a more appropriate way to remember and honor Pete? We’ll start at 7 to be more accessible to families with young children, and there is no charge for admission.

Let’s be together in music and memories.
