Lots of live music in Phinney-Greenwood this weekend, plus tree sale, cat adoption, and rehearsal for a Hollywood movie

So much happening in Phinney Ridge and Greenwood this weekend. Here are a few highlights; check our Events calendar for more.
First up is the monthly Art Up Artwalk at nearly four-dozen art galleries and businesses all along Phinney-Greenwood avenues and nearby from 6-9 p.m. Friday. Tonight is the opening of the last exhibition for Tasty, 7513 Greenwood Ave. N., which is closing its doors Jan. 31, after four years.
A Celtic Christmas at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Emmanuel Phinney Ridge, 503 N. 50th St.
Tim’s Tavern, 602 N. 105th St., hosts Sarah Tenacity’s birthday bash with rock, pop punk and hip hop starting at 8 p.m. Friday; The Ill Legitimates (ska/reggae) and Dragontail Peak (pop punk) at 8 p.m. Saturday; and Singer-Songwriter Showcase at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Broadview-Thomson K-8, 13052 Greenwood Ave. N., continues its Christmas tree sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Kitten and cat adoption event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at All the Best Pet Care, 10009 Holman Rd. NW.
The 37th annual Green Lake Pathway of Lights is from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday. Thousands of luminaria will be placed around the lake’s 2.8-mile path. Local musicians will perform at four sites around the lake: Green Lake Community Center on the east side; Green Lake Small Craft Center (the Aqua Theater) on the south side; The Bathhouse Theater (Seattle Public Theatre) on the north side; and The Arch on the east of side of the community center/pool. Drinks and treats will be available at all four locations. Bring a donation of nonperishable food for local food banks.

Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., has a very busy weekend. Reggie Miles — Friday 13th Bad Luck Blues, a PNW Folklore Society Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday; get your holiday shopping done at Handmade Happening from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; Greg Spence Wolf, Laura Lagerstedt, Deb Seymour and Michael Simpson perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday; a reading of “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” at 6 p.m. Sunday; followed at 8 p.m. by David Shields and Caleb Powell rehearsing scenes for their upcoming film based on Powell’s book “I Think You Are Totally Wrong: A Quarrel.” The film will be directed by actor-writer-director James Franco, to be released in September 2014.
Vivaldi’s Gloria at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John United Lutheran Church, 5515 Phinney Ave. N.
