Lantern Brewing set to open much larger brewery, tasting room, in Greenwood

November 7th, 2013 · Comments

Phinney Ridge’s little nano-brewery that could, Lantern Brewing, has moved out of its tiny digs in a retail building’s basement at Greenwood and 74th and into a large warehouse at 938 N. 95th St. in Greenwood. Owners Chris and Lori Engdahl tell me the warehouse also has a dedicated space for a tasting room, which should be up and running by the end of the year.

“While our equipment is a lot bigger now, our focus is still on creating authentic Belgian-style beer, using ingredients and materials sourced as locally as possible: malts from Vancouver WA, hops from Yakima, local water and house yeast, plus Washington-grown fruits, herbs, and other flavorings,” the Engdahls told me by email today.

Engdahl is test brewing now, with production brewing to start by December. But Lantern will be pouring beer at this Saturday’s PNA Beer Taste.
