Floats, bands, drill teams and pony rides at the Greenwood Seafair Parade next Wednesday

by | Jul 19, 2013

Thousands of people will line the streets of Greenwood on Wednesday, July 24, for the 63rd annual Greenwood Seafair Parade. This year’s theme is “Funny in Greenwood” and features grand marshal Pat Cashman of “Almost Live” and “The 206” fame.
Pony rides are back this year but have moved to the new location of The Hair Company, which recently moved to 9220 Greenwood Ave N. The pony rides will be set up by 10 a.m. to offer rides all day.
The parade runs from 6-8:30 p.m. and features more than 100 entries, including plenty of bands, drill teams, floats, belly dancers, pirates, cute kids on unicycles and more.
The parade route runs south along Greenwood Avenue from North 95th to North 85th streets, then heads west to 6th Avenue Northwest. The Greenwood Seafair Parade is the oldest of the Seafair Sanctioned Community Events Program in the region.
