2 paving projects north of Greenwood this week

by | Mar 26, 2013

The Seattle Department of Transportation is grinding and paving Third Avenue NW between NW 112th and NW 117th streets today and Wednesday. Crews will work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. During those times, the southbound Metro bus stop just south of NW 115th Street will be closed; the bus stop will be shifted to just north of NW 117th Street.
Update: The Linden Avenue North paving has been rescheduled from this week to April 9-11.
Road crews also will be doing final paving on Linden Avenue North between North 130th and North 141st streets on Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting. Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. During those hours, southbound traffic will be detoured via North 143rd Street to Aurora or Greenwood avenues (see map below).

Remaining project work includes roadway striping, signal changes at North 130th and North 145th streets, more new sidewalk and also an artwork installation. Seattle City Light also has work in the area to relocate utilities and install street lights. The project calls for a total of 57 new or upgraded street lights along the corridor.
Construction began in June of 2012 and is now complete between North 128th and North 130th streets and between North 143th and North 145th streets. The entire project is on schedule to wrap up by the end of the second quarter.
