by | Jan 19, 2013

Update Jan. 21: The burn ban is lifted as of 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21.

Earlier: The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency has issued a Stage 1 burn ban for King County, due to cold weather and rising air pollution.

No burning is allowed in fireplaces or uncertified wood stoves. No outdoor fires are allowed, including no bonfires, campfires, or using fire pits and chimineas. Natural gas, propane, pellet and EPA-certified wood stoves and inserts are allowed during a Stage 1 burn ban.

Burn ban violations are subject to a $1,000 penalty.
