Liquor sales at neighborhood grocery stores starts tomorrow

by | May 31, 2012

Grocery stores all over the state are getting ready to sell liquor beginning Friday, now that the state is closing down state-run liquor stores.

Safeway at Greenwood Avenue North and North 87th Street is getting its liquor section ready.

Ken’s Market also plans to sell liquor, but won’t have its stock out until sometime next week. An employee told me today that they’re moving the bread shelving over to the produce section, and putting in new shelving for liquor by the beer and wine section next to the deli.

Other stores in the neighborhood that will sell liquor include the QFC on Holman Road, and the former state liquor store at Greenwood Avenue North and North 92nd Street. Any other stores we’re missing?
