Updated: Paving on Greenwood Avenue today, eastbound detours on 85th Street begin June 11

Update Wednesday, 1:30 p.m.: Detour information dates have been updated.
Earlier: Seattle Department of Transportation crews are completing paving of Greenwood Avenue between North 85th and 80th streets today, as well as base paving in the center of the road between North 80th and 73rd streets. On-street parking has temporarily been removed. Paving may extend into the evening tonight, past the usual 6 p.m. work time, and it could be noisy for nearby businesses and residents.

The center lane on Greenwood Avenue is closed for repaving today. Traffic lanes have been moved to the shoulder area.
Crews are also still working on reconstructing corners with new curb ramps between North 85th and 73rd streets.

Eastbound detours on North 85th Street between Greenwood Avenue North and Aurora Avenue North are expected to begin Friday on Monday, June 11. Traffic will be detoured to North 80th Street.
Metro buses will be rerouted off North 85th Street between Greenwood Avenue North and Wallingford Avenue North starting early on Monday, June 11 early Friday morning, through August. 20. Eastbound routes 48 48E, 355 and 994 heading eastbound will head south on Greenwood Avenue North to North 80th Street. (Westbound routes will not be affected.)
Remember that all businesses are open during construction, even if they’re a little hard to get to!
