Two defendants in GMS Market organized retail theft ring sentenced today

Two of the four defendants in the major organized retail theft ring that operated out of the GMS Market in Greenwood were sentenced today. The four had been accused of paying thieves to shoplift from other local retailers, then selling those stolen goods at their store and online.

Gulshan Rai, his wife Shabnam Sukhija, their son Jatin Rai, and daughter-in-law Mitu Rai, all pleaded guilty to various charges last month.
According to the King County Prosecutor’s Office, Jatin Rai was sentenced today to 16-1/2 months in prison, and his wife, Mitu Rai, was sentenced to nine months of electronic home detention.
Gulshan Rai and Shabnam Sukhija will be sentenced on Nov. 4.
