Yelp: “….Yes, this is a bar, not a cafe. A bar with excellent food, awesome staff, cool decor, and fantastic outdoor communal style seating on giant picnic tables…”

The Yard is one of the best spots for a beer and food on the ave. Casual, funky, CLEAN, quality.
Esoteric beers in constant rotation, Mexican-style food, from house-made chips to individual soft tacos to scratch-made masa for the quesadillas to entrees for the price of small plates (at other local establishments), distinguish the Yard.
Top shelf spirits, cocktails, wines and sodas (Mexican Coke!) all with jovial service.
Indoor/outdoor seating (don’t worry: heat-blasters and gas fire pit will keep you warm when it’s not), great music, and interesting decor…and it’s CLEAN and reasonably priced.
Check it out!

This place kicks ass.
Service was slowwwww. Food was so-so.
Food service sometimes seems slow since they make everything to order.
I’ll take fresh over fast….relax, have another beer.
I love this place! I second everything Kevin says.
The carnitas were great. We’ve had multiple great times here.
Love The Yard. Wonderful rotating selection of beers. Good service and tasty food. Happy they don’t serve the usual pub fare of burgers and chips. Instead they offer fresh tortilla chips and great guacamole. Absolutely one of the best spots on the ave.
I love their queso fundido, but there’s even more – Check details out about my review of The Yard Cafe at http://thesolocook.com/2012/10/17/seattle-bar-latin-margaritas-beer/
