What’s happening in the neighborhood this weekend

Here are a few highlights of weekend activities in Phinney-Greenwood and beyond. You can always find the latest happenings in our events calendar.

The Phinney Farmers Market is from 3-7 p.m. Friday in the lower parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association.

Wayward Coffeehouse presents “Splash!” tonight from 9-11 as part of its First Friday Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film Night. It’s free. And on Saturday, the North End Jazz Quartet plays from 8-10 p.m. at Wayward.

A group of families in the 500 block of North 84th Street between Dayton and Fremont avenues are holding garage and yard sales from 9 a.m. 3 p.m. Saturday.

There’s a Celtic Jam from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Couth Buzzard Books Espresso Buono Cafe.

Tasty art gallery is having a ”super crazy sale” from Friday through Sunday, with 20 percent off all wall art, sculptures, and more. 

The Fremont First Friday Art Walk is tonight from 6-9 p.m.

In Ballard, this is the last weekend of free concerts at the Locks. The Patria Band (country gospel music) plays from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dissonance Jazz Combo from 2-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, and the Michael Clune & Sleep till Noon Band wraps up the weekend with a free concert on Monday, Labor Day, from 2-3 p.m.

    Thanks for the group garage sale tip… AND, I’ll hope to see folks at Tasty this weekend to take advantage of the 20% off discount on all original artwork from the “Garden of Earthly Delights” exhibit that comes down Wednesday night to make room for the Surrealist show called “Dreams & Visions” that opens on the 10th.

    Just an update to the multi-family garage sale on the 500 block of 84th Street. It is being held both Saturday and Sunday from 9-3.
