Doxey says someone smashed the window on his minivan about 5:15 this morning near 1st Ave. N. and NW 73rd St.
Taken was a black bag containing diapers and a change of clothes for our 11 month old. I slept through it but my wife reports, “I heard a motorbike, a loud noise, then it drove away.”

Isn’t this just awful? The neighborhood is under constant attack by stupid criminals.

My husband saw a couple of car-prowlers at 5:30am today, June 1, on 66th between Fremont and Linden–a white male, bald with a beard, and a white female, dark hair and blue sweatshirt, both late 20s to late 30s. Each took a different side of the street, looked in car windows and rattled door handles. They took off when they saw him watching, getting into a black hatchback that needed a tune-up, driving north. He reported it to the police.

We suffered a similar smash and grab early Sunday morning. They took an iPod out of the center console and rifled through the glove compartment. Didn’t take anything else. Car was parked right in front of Fini Condos on Greenwood Ave at 68th.

Keep on eye on benches and dumpsters around you. When our diaper bag and emergency backpack were stolen out of our car, there was a post in the forums about gear being seen on a park bench. I didn’t see the post until too late, but I’d bet money someone was disappointed by our baby stuff and just left it behind.

Any new sightings of these crooks?

OK, parents of those-in-diapers, time to stuff backpacks with used diapers in our cars. leave the alarms off and the doors slightly adjar so you don’t get your window smashed. should be a great deterrent once they, um, run “a-foul” of a few…

Does anyone know what happened to the little green men on that street?
