Ken’s Market greatly expanded when it took down the temporary wall between the old and the new sections late Sunday night. The new side opened early Monday morning with some produce, and workers have spent all week installing and stocking shelves.
Last week we got a sneak peek three days before the wall came down.
Mike V just sent these photos that he took today, showing workers as they finish up work in the produce section.

And here’s looking to the other side of the store where the registers are.

This such a great improvement to the neighborhood.

It’s good to see that Ken’s is still going strong. I used to go there and to the Bakery next store with my Grand Mother. Greenwood from about 70th to 75th was quite a neighborhood center, and it still is because of businesses like Ken’s IGA.

The new store looks fantastic. I wish I could shop here more often, but prices on staples like milk and eggs make shopping at PCC or Ballard Market feel like discount retail. I hope the larger space will allow things to come down a bit.
