Pet of the Week is Bungee

February 26th, 2010 · 13 Comments

Update: Bungee has been adopted.

This week’s Pet of the Week from PAWS Cat City in Greenwood is Bungee.

Bungee is a petite six-year-old female with beautiful green eyes. When she looks at you, you feel like she understands you and invites you into her peaceful world. She is a perfect blend of love, independence and playfulness. She will do best in a home without children as she prefers to be surrounded by humans who are her peers. She doesn’t mind living with cats of all ages though. She’s sure to be a quiet companion who will enjoy being in your presence. When you’re ready for a new adventure and the chance to see life in a new, exciting way, come visit Bungee at PAWS Cat City: 8503 Greenwood Ave N. She is spayed, microchipped, litter-box trained, and up-to-date on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $90.

    Good luck finding a home Bungee – you’re adorable!

    maybe if paws did not turn people away for stupid reasons they would not have to do this…we were ready to adopt two cats a couple of years ago and after going to get supplies they told us they changed their mind because we had a young child. Jerks.

    “…she prefers to be surrounded by humans who are her peers.”

    Not accurate. She’s an f-ing cat.

    @ballard bill:

    Some could say the same thing of you.

    @bess:

    They’re not jerks. They’re volunteers, trying to match the right animals with the right owners.

    If anything, I would say that they’re often too nice and accommodating when it comes to dealing with terrible parents and their awful, misbehaving, bratty kids.

    Little kids don’t understand that you can’t manhandle cats. They don’t draw the distinction between stuffed animal and real animal. This obviously causes a stressful environment for the potential pet. Any shelter worker with a grain of common sense should tell you, “Sorry, but I don’t think this will work out.”

    Also, sometimes with small kids (infants), there is the risk of the animal accidentally smothering the child.

    We love PAWS and have found the Cat City staff very helpful and conscientious. We adopted two from them three years ago and were grateful they took the time to help us find a pair who would get along well with each other and also with our previous elderly cat. I’m sure our cats would agree they made a great match for us!

    Here’s hoping the Pet of the Week feature helps more great cats get adopted by deserving people who will treat them well. If you don’t like it, don’t read it!

    Now now children. Don’t feed the trolls! it just encourages them.

    @ Jon
    we ended up getting a cat from a shelter and our “awful, misbehaving, bratty kids” treat him great and he loves them. It was clear that at least one of those volunteers had as much prejudice against kids as you do.

    Ballard Bill, what you just wrote was stupid and a waste of internet space! Move on…

    Bess – I’m glad you found a cat that suits you and your household. The cat you wanted from PAWS may have had a note on it’s paperwork about not being good with children. Some of these cats can be skittish and some are not. I’m happy you found a match, but please don’t blame PAWS for trying to make the right match to the cat.
    From my experience the people at PAWS are very helpful and courteous. Good luck Bungee!

    The PAWS volunteers and staff have been absolutely wonderful for us in the past. We’ve gotten all three of our cats from them over the years. They clearly want to make good matches for the animals so things work out best for everyone.

    We are pleased to report that Bungee went to a great home with fellow Cat City cat Furry this past Sunday!
