How are you going to balance the budget without raising taxes on working families in Seattle?

When will you free us of the tyranny of the automobile? Nothing good ever happened in a car.

    Salt the roads!

  • 9 tsombrero // Nov 23, 2009 at 12:32 pm

If we’re going to salt, make available some undercarriage washer things. They have them in other places that use salt. And warn us when you’re putting it out so those of us who care can avoid trashing our nice cars.

Oh, and violent crime is getting worse. This should be prosecuted as aggresively as possible.

Please! Mayor Mike is going to deal with the number 1 issue facing Seattle! Climate change! Now!

What will in matter if the streets are safe or plowed of snaow if the Maldives are under water?

@9 - if you really want to avoid trashing your nice car, don’t drive it down an icy hill in the winter that was not plowed or salted, you will likely slide into a tree or another vehicle.

The crime issue should be the top priority, and not just the violent crime that is hard to predict, but the “lesser” property crimes like car prowls. It seems to me that it would be far more efficient to have a few cops on an occasional night patrol specifically looking for car prowlers than it is to have those same officers working the day shift filling out all the reports of the last night’s car prowls.
