Adoption fees slashed at PAWS Cat City

August 10th, 2009 · 2 Comments

PAWS Cat City adoption center in Greenwood is overflowing with cats, so they’re slashing the adoption fee for all cats six months and older from $90 to $30. The offer lasts through Aug. 31 and is also good at PAWS Lynnwood Shelter.

“Summer always means more cats and kittens, but this year we have already taken in 22% more young kittens than the same time last year,” explains Kay Joubert, PAWS Director of Companion Animal Services. “More kittens means the older cats get overlooked and wait a lot longer to be adopted. We’ve reached a point where there is no more space in the adoption room.”

Cats adopted from PAWS are spayed or neutered, microchipped, have had their first set of vaccines and come with a cat carrier. Cat City is at 8503 Greenwood Ave. N. They’re closed Monday, but open 12-6 p.m. Tues.-Fri. and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sat.-Sun.

We’ve gotten three cats over the years from PAWS. They’re wonderful. (Both PAWS and the cats.)

Just got an AMAZING kitty this last Sunday. A total sweetheart. Everyone was amazingly helpful and really made sure I went home with the right cat. These guys are great, and at only $30? What a steal!
