Police search for strong-arm robbery suspect

June 29th, 2009 · 7 Comments

Police are still searching for a strong-arm robbery at the Cowgirls Espresso on 143rd and Greenwood Ave. Sunday morning. Police say that the suspect punched through the glass window and demanded the money from the register. A short time later an unoccupied car was found, still running, in a ditch near the robbery location. An elderly witness said he took the suspect to a location near 80th & 3rd Ave. Police searched the area and K9 units were called in. After tracking the robbery scene, the area where the car was in the ditch and the location near 80th & 3rd, the suspect was never found. The Robbery Unit will now take over the investigation. The possible suspect vehicle has been impounded. (Thanks Silver for additional information!)

Not the Sexpresso stand! I hope the girls are ok; what a fright, especially while wearing a g-string.

Is there a description of this suspect?

this is just cribbed from the SPD blotter blog, and I’d imagine no one from the phinney blog has spoken to the police about this investigation.

there is a shady house on 3rd right across from greenwood market. cross street 85th. Always thugs on the porch. Maybe someone from the detective unit should go knock on that door.

    Definition of “thugs”?

  • 6 snoopy // Jun 30, 2009 at 11:40 am

Thugs, my take: Open use of drugs, drug dealing, public drinking(technically they are on their porch but sometimes wonder into the street), harassing and intimidating pedestrians, etc.

In Greenwood that’s not a thug, that’s what you call a ‘neighbor’.
