I would adore to have a neighborhood person buy the biz. I have a new baby and a terrific job opportunity with a friend. I came to realize that I just can’t do it all. I’m hoping that someone will buy the place who wants to continue serving the families in the neighborhood.

Maybe they are having a tough time making a go of it at $10 a pop for visits. I know I thought it would be nice to check them out on a rainy day, but their pricing is way way out of line compared to the other options…a couple bucks to go to one of the parks dept.’s playrooms, free/donation to go to Mosaic Coffeehouse’s playroom, or use our existing Zoo membership to elbow in on the hordes at Zoomazium.

That’s too bad. I had high hopes for them, but their hours were just WAY too restrictive. There are a ton of things to do in Seattle in the morning, but not so much in the afternoon. So, when were the bulk of their hours? In the morning. If they’d focused on the 2-6 timeslot when kids are home from pre-school or the Zoo is closed (in the winter), or it’s just generally hard to find something to do between nap and dinner, they’d have fared much better.

I thought about going there many times but like lauram said usually the time I thought about it was when they were closed. I am a working mother so the best times for me would have been after 4:00 and on the weekends. I once called them to see if we could have a birthday party but as I recall they were very expensive, about the same price or more of the zoo or the children’s museum. At least those places you had other attractions that you got besides the birthday room. It’s really unfortunate because it seemed like a great idea and I hate to see businesses close in my neighborhood.

    Restrictive hours, restrictive pricing….sheeesh.
I guess it’s getting more difficult to drop off your kids. Maybe the malls are still free ;-)
    (good luck with that)
Besides, it costs way more to cover the liability, taxes, licenses, before you have to pay any staff, for $10 an hour?
(Sorry McCheese, that doesn’t leave much for the store front…or incentive…)
Go back to the neighbor you idiots!
(unless you dissed them already….for shame)

Huh? I think you might be confused on the purpose of this business chopper. This is an indoor play space where you go WITH your kids. The idea is if you need to get out of the house and it might be bad weather there is a place to go. It’s like a giant rec room with different toys than you have at home. However there are places like this at any community center for only $2 a visit so that is why $10 seems high for us. It did appeal to me because it is walking distance when I have to drive to the community centers, but like I said it was not open when I was off of work so I never got a chance to go.

If it was indeed $10 an hour to drop kids off that place would have had a line around the block!

Thanks for the correction Chris, I was mistaken. I hope that the room continues to provide options.
