Definitely check out Picnic. They’re really friendly, and the food is great. Bread from Le Fournil, top-quality ingredients.
I’m especially fond of the beet salad… but I’ve never had anything from them that was less than great.

went in hungry at 11:30am one weekday and asked for a sandwich. They said they don’t make sandwiches before 12noon! I went to Ken’s Mkt. instead…seems like the wrong approach from a new neighborhood food business with alot of competition.

~ we are delighted to make our delicious sandwiches from 11-7 wed-sat and on sundays from 12-5. we thank all of our regulars who support a small family business working hard to offer more tasty options for the neighborhood.

Yum!!! Great wine selection, great food, wonderful staff. The pork rillette sandwich while not the healthiest thing in the world to eat is so delicious it makes me want to cry. Wish they carried desserts to go along with their yummy savory selection.

Hey Lisa, Thanks for the kudos! We are working on more dessert offerings. For now we do sell the Le Fournil Golden Raisin Shortbread Cookies and we also proudly carry Autumn Martin’s Hot Cakes! 17 min in your oven=gooey chocolate goodness. Cheers! -Anson

I thought the sandwiches were overpriced. Paid $10 for a sando and didn’t even get a side with it and it wasn’t a very big sandwich at that. Quality products but probably will not go back, at least not for lunch.

Not cheap, but I have yet to be disappointed by anything they’ve made. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

Great people, great food, great wine… plus the Thursday Wine Tastings are the best thing happening in PhinneyWood.

I loved Picnic! It is fresh and unpretentious and the owners are truly joyous. Their wine tastings are tons of fun, and a true inter-generational neighborhood gathering! I recommend.

All the food is outrageous. Everything they make has top notch flavor and quality ingredients, hence the prices are a bit higher. But you get what you pay for and the service is friendly. You can really tell the difference with an owner-operated business. Love Picnic!

Wonderful people – wonderful food!

I like Picnic a lot. Pricey, yes. But top quality ingredients.
The only thing that would make their sandwiches better is if they sliced them in three inch pieces, arrayed them on the edges of a plate “wagon-wheel” style, and added a scoop of fruit salad (melons, berries, & bananas?) in the middle. Or placed a small cup of soup in the middle. Or any other “side” a customer would like. That, paired with a glass of good wine = lunch heaven! Just like a Parisian sidewalk cafe…
