Neighborhood wine tastings

January 29th, 2009 · 3 Comments

Several places around Greenwood and Phinney have weekly wine tastings, so we thought we’d do a roundup of the ones we know about.

Thursday nights head over to Picnic at 6801 Greenwood Ave. N. from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The tasting fee is $8 and includes at least four tastes of different wines, paired with treats from Picnic’s pantry, including handmade charcuterie, cheeses and cured meats.

Vineyard Wine Shop at 8218 Greenwood Ave. N. offers Wednesday night wine tastings. Each week features wine from a different country or region. Cost is usually $3-5.

The Shop Agora at 6417-A Phinney Ave. N. has free wine tastings and food pairings every Saturday from 12-5 p.m.

If you know of other wine tastings in the neighborhood, please let us know.

I didn’t even know about Agora or Picnic until I read about them here. Thanks!

Have you thought of adding a calendar feature to the blog where stuff like the wine tastings and other community events could be listed?

The wine tastings t Vineyard wineshop are great. The owner will happily and patiently answer questions and always has an interesting array of wines to try.

There is the big PNA Wine Taste at the PNA center on February 28th. It is a good opportunity to taste many different wines.
