Supernova supposedly super again

by | Jan 16, 2009

Turns out the Supernova playground equipment at Greenwood Park is running just about the way it’s supposed to.

For months, people complained that the ring didn’t spin as loosely as it should after some maintenance was performed. After several supposed fixes, Loretta contacted the company that manufactures it, Kompan, and she reports on the email she received from their sales rep:

“I met with the maintenance guys, on site, the other day. I found the performance of the one currently installed to be fairly consistent with other Supernovas. It’s possible that the original was particularly ‘loose’…also, they will generally continue to ‘loosen up’ with use. I’m advising the maintenance staff on a recommendation made by Kompan’s Technical Manager that may ease the small bit of resistance that I noticed.”
