Kimae Dolan, director of Seattle Weight Loss Bootcamp, lists the hills of Phinney Ridge as one of her favorite places to workout. In her blog, she claims that walking up and down the hill between Greenwood and Fremont avenues provides a fabulous workout.
Make this route a habit the next few months and you’ll be rewarded not just with a strong backside and killer abs, but with a sigh worthy workout view of lush greenery come Spring.
Check out the map of her proposed workout, developed when she lived on the Ridge years ago. So, if you’ve made a New Year’s resolution to get in shape, you don’t even have to join a gym to do it - just walk up and down a few of these hills!

Allison - It’s working for me. It’s the second story down on her blog page.

Kimae is right! This workout is killer! And if you add 20 crunches or 10 pushups at the top of every hill, who needs a gym?!?!

HA! I’ve been doing this exact circuit for almost a year (and it’s a butt-kicker!) But it really is worth it to get to the top of the hill, turn towards Greenlake, and watch the sun lighting up the sky. Almost makes the next hill not hurt so much. Who needs a gym membership when you live on Phinney??

Just don’t stop at Red Mill/Starbucks on your route.
