Naked City the new Greenwood hot spot

October 22nd, 2008 · 3 Comments

Naked City Brewing opened today at 8564 Greenwood Ave. N. to a standing-room only crowd.

Not bad for 5:30 p.m. on a Wednesday.

Until they get their brewing operation under way, they’ve got 24 guest taps, more than 60 bottled beers and a handful of wines by the glass or bottle. You can count the snack-type menu items on one hand - an artisan cheese platter, a Bavarian meat plate, a hot pretzel, “spicy smokin’ cheese sausage” and pickled hop shoots. If anyone has tried that last one, please let us know how they taste.

SUPERB!. Had a great time there yesterday afternoon sitting sipping pints of Choppers as the fall sunshine lit up the bar.

And only an 8 minute walk from my house.

Made a return visit Sat night. Decent size crowd inside & a great vibe. We just had to order the pickled hop shoots out of curiosity, and they are actually very tasty indeed. Don described them as “similar to asparagus” which is a fair comparison….long thin hop plant shoots that go down well with a double hopped IPA :)
