Naked City Brewing opening Oct. 22

October 16th, 2008 · 10 Comments

Naked City Brewing, 8564 Greenwood Ave N., plans to open Oct. 22.

As we’ve written before, they’re working on getting a conditional use permit that will allow them to brew beer on the premises. Until then, there will be 24 guest taps to quench beer lovers’ thirsts. Thanks, Eric, for flagging us about the opening date!

Update: Donald Averill, one of the owners, says they plan to open at 4 p.m. on the 22nd. Regular hours will be 4 p.m. to close Monday-Friday, and 11 a.m. to close Saturday and Sunday. The place will have a family friendly area along the north wall, while the bar area will be 21+. At 9 or 10 p.m., the whole place will be 21+.

Heck, the little nippers should probably be in bed by that point anyway.

I’m so glad they are going to have a non 21+ area. My husband and I are total beer geeks and love to go out to lunch and have a beer. So far the only place in the neighborhood that was not 21+ was the Barking Dog.

Don’t worry, my daughter is in bed by 7pm and when we do go out she is well behaved, if not we get the heck out of there. I hope the other parents do the same, I was (and still am) annoyed by out of control kids in public before I had my own. I also like the idea that they are 21+ after a certain time, I hope that is a happy compromise with everyone who was concerned.

Can’t wait! The space looks great inside. The beer list looks diverse. I think it’s a great idea to have a non 21+ area and I don’t have kids. Looking forward to seeing the menu. This is a great addition to the neighborhood.

I think probably not; it’s in the building next to the parking lot behind Yen Wor.
