Worth going for the Cadillac margaritas… who would have thought?

Order anything with the Cochinita Pibil (spicy pork meat) and you will not be disappointed. Tacos, burritos, torta–take your pick.

Blech, decidedly below average bland “mexican” food that shows how far away Seattle is from the Mexican border.

One of my standbys over the last decade. A pretty simple neighborhood place, family-friendly and family run, relaxed and tasty. Cochinita Pibil has been consistently good, posole too — pretty much anything with pork in it. This is what neighborhood joints in Mexico are like.

A wonderful nighborhood hole-in-the-wall. Not sure what part of Mexico others have been to but I’ve had nothing but wonderful, traditional dishes from this place.
Thanks Allison and Colin for the heads-up on the cochinita pibil. Excellent stuff.
The tacos Jarocho are delicious as well (though terrible for you!). Another great find; chile rellenos in spicy soup, something you almost never see in the US.

last time i was there the margaritas were watered down, the food was half the portion it used to be, and the service was not so good… not sure I will go back with other choices in the area.

I usually have good friendly service, get a burrito with Cochinita Pibil or plate of three tacos and have a nice time!

Finally went to La Botana after many years of passing it by…I’ve been missing out. Its a big step up from the regular American/Mexican food found around town. The pork enchilada/chile relleno combo is amazing. I could actually taste the pork in the enchilada. I thought the margarita for under 5 bucks was pretty good and worth the 4.75. Ignore the decor and give this place a chance, you won’t be disappointed.
